Slip N Slide

Distance from Laie:N/A
Gear Needed:   Plastic Sheet from Home Depot

Slip N Sliding can be a lot of fun - even for adults. You just got to get an adult size slip n slide, which usually isn't labeled as a slip n slide. Look for Plastic Sheeting at a hardware store. We picked up our sheeting at Home Depot. The Depot has a pretty big variety of sizes and multiple types of thickness. It usually comes in 2, 4, and 6 mil thickness. We recomend 10 feet by 100 feet of the 6 mil sheeting. The 6 mil is the most expensive but it wont tear near as easily as the thinner sizes. We payed $40 for our 10 X 100, 6 mil sheeting. It usuall comes in black or clear. We picked black, but found that it gets hot fast and dries quickly thus requiring a lot of constant spraying with the hose. Clear would probably work better in that regard.
You will also need to find a lawn big enough to put your slide on as well as a faucet and hose. If you can find a hill or decline then gravity will be in your favor and sliding all 100 feet will be a cinch and a blast. You will also need two heavy rocks or objects to put at the start of the slide to weight it down, otherwise it will bunch up when your jump or land on it.
Send me links or photos of your setup, fun, and further advice.
Also, shoot me an email to be on the mailing list of activites to find when the Slide will be set up again.
